Dear Readers, Happy New Year! #1

Dear Readers,

Happy New Year! It is now officially 2016 and we've got a lot of work to do making sure it's a fantastic year for all of us.
I welcomed the New Year sick in bed after a horrendous Eve of New Years Eve night where I thought I'd broken the bonds between my family and I and on New Years Eve day where I was homeless for a couple of hours and was unsure where the hell I was going to spend New Years Eve, thankfully I'm in my own bed and have managed to repair some of the bonds broken between my family and I.

I like the concept of a New Year, New Me but I also like the concept of making the up and coming year the best one yet, so below are five ways to make 2016 your year!

How to make 2016 your year...

1. Set yourself some goals
Decide on a couple of things you're going to achieve next year and smash them! You've got a year to do it, choose measurable goals that will give you a sense of achievement and will move you closer to where you want to be.

2. Make every day count
Do something everyday that puts you closer to the person you want to be, work out, do a good deed, ring up a friend or family member you haven't spoken to in awhile, just do something because life's to short to spend a day doing nothing.

3. Don't be afraid of change or making decisions
I'm scared of change and I don't like the responsibility of making decisions that could effect the rest of my life but these changes and decisions have to be made, make them now because at some point you're going to have to make them anyway

4. Appreciate the people around you
We're all very busy and as adults we've all got a lot of sh*t going on but make sure you take them time to appreciate every single one of those important people around you because one day they won't be there, plus these are the people who are going to make your 2016 great.

5. Read and then read some more
Knowledge is power and reading is a great gift. Read whatever you like, but read to expand your knowledge and to nurture your mind.
